Hi Amy. There are Zillions of Robillards in North America, It all depens where you wish to start, you should try to find out what your ancestors are as far back as possible by asking maybe your grand-parents what they remember of their ancestors; this would give you about 6 generations back, which is not too bad. next, you should find out the location(towns, parish, county) where they lived. you should try to find out if you can have easy access to a genealogical society in your area; i dont know where you live, so i cannot help you there(Québec or Ontario). if we establish a connection with somebody 6 generations back, we might be able to go directly to that ancestor and find out right away the connection to Claude Robillard who was the first in Canada in 1663 at the age of 13. that must have been something crossing the Atlantic at that age in a wooden boat. Would you have tried it?????
Any way, keep in touch and if you a genealogy program installed on your computer, i can send you a Gedcom file of all the Robillard that i have(about 6000). this would be a start.(You can download various program free from the internet,i use the PAF which is from the Mormons Church, it's very good)
