Most of the information came from a book that a guy named Donald Sturgeon (b. December 31, 1925) wrote on the Sturgeon Family. My great great grandma was Julie Robillard and she married Joseph Sturgeon. These were his grandparents, and he knew a lot of these people personally...his aunts and uncles and cousins...as well as researching regular documentsI think his uncle actually started the research and he took it up when his uncle passed away.I haven't talked with him in about 10 years or so, and I don't even know if he is still living, but at the time he was living in Suite Ste. Marie, Quebec. Some of the information wasn't so correct in his book I found and really needed to verify it other ways...some of it I haven't been able to yet and left all of what I knew wasn't right out of my information until I could verify it.But the book was still very cool because it had pictures...and some census information on the Robillards.
Some of the other information is my family...and people I've known and collected birth, death, and marriage record on.
Then...there's this other guy...I can't think of his name off hand...who has a Robillard Web Page who I was in contact with who gave me other information.I'll try to find his web page address and post it.
The information that was before 1799 came from the PRDH.
I looked at your information...but I don't really know any of the St Jean Family beyond the Robillards. So sorry.Have you sent a email out to the Mail Group in that area? The people on that list have been pretty helpful...and some guy from their historical society answered my query and gave me a bunch of information on the Sturgeon's and Robillard's that they had.Might help...I don't know. You may have exhausted the resources in that area but if I think of anything I'll let you know.
