Saludos Rey, it seems that most of not all of the Robles from Rio Piedras to the eastern side of the island descends from the Robles of Manati. Fajardo, my home town, was populated by the different families of Manati before the town was officially founded in 1777. Manati was founded in 1738 and before that date all birth, marriage and death records were to be found in Arecibo. Morovis was founded in 1818 or 1822 and before that is was part of Manati. I strongly recommend that you organize your family’s lineage and share it with the Yahoo group Robles of Puerto Rico. This group first started with the Robles of Fajardo and now includes Robles of the island which don’t have the wealth of information as the Robles from Fajardo. The only positive link as of now is a Y-DNA match with two Robles from Ciales whose grandfather was born in Jayuya and how supposedly descends from a Pedro Robles who was born in Ponce, not Manati, around 1725. It seems that most of the Robles of Puerto Rico have a common ancestor that came forSpain in the mid 1600’s and whose name is not known as of yet. No DNA has been compared with anyone from the Manati area as of yet.
