Hi Linda, I was just reviewing my information on Elisha Mix born 1751, latter of Jefferson County, New York as I would like to find proof that this Elisha Mix who married Martha (Squires?) is the son of Stephen born 1718 at Wallingford, Ct. and his wife Rebecca Ives. Since Stephen Mix died in 1765 in Farmington, Hartford County, Connecticut, I was wondering if there would be a will or probate records that mention his children including Elisha. Since you are a descendant of these families, I was wondering if you have checked into the probate records?
While reviewing this information, I came accross the 1880 census of Perry Rockwood which reads: 1880 - Census Place: Point Peninsula, Jefferson, New York Source: FHL Film 1254839National Archives Film T9-0839Page 38D Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace Asa HOLBROOK Self M M W 32 NY Occ: Blacksmith Fa: NH Mo: NY Lydia HOLBROOK Wife F M W 25 NY Occ: Keeping House Fa: NY Mo: NY Daniel HOLBROOK Father M M W 81 NH Occ: Retired Farmer Fa: NH Mo: NH Anna HOLBROOK Mother F M W 62 NY Fa: CT Mo: CT Perry ROCKWOOD Other M S W 28 NY Occ: Blacksmith Fa: NY Mo: NY ------------------ He seems like the one that you inquired about, but this would be before he married.
Haven't talked to you for some time now and wondering if you are still working on your genealogy?
