I am sure I can fill you in on the Roemers you are looking for.Robert was born in Williamsburg(h) NY in 1860.He died in Detroit on 6 April 1912 and was buried on the 9th.You can find Robert Roemer in the 1910 census but Frances and Katy are no longer living with them.I would assume they had married. But one should never make assumptions.
Robert was a brother to my great grandfather Otto Roemer (Ottomar Römer) who was born in Germany. He came to the states (NY)in 1854 with his parents August Roemer and Auguste nee Bachmann. The other two children that came from Germany were Albert and Anna.Otto was the youngest and was born in 1851 (died 1901 in Detroit).
Johann Roemer, another child of August Roemer, was born in 1858 in Williamsburg NY as Robert was and is buried in St. John's Cemetry in Fraser MI.
The town were this family orignated from was Udersleben in Thuringa.I was there for two days this sommer and filled in some more information but have not yet worked through it.
I have been trying to discover were this family actually resided in NY from 1854.If we could discover that, then we could find the baptismal records (church records) and perhaps learn more about the family.
I would of course embrace the opportunity to exchange any information with you on this family. If there are any male Roemers who are decendent from August Roemer and still maintain the name, they would have to be decendents of Robert and his son Walter. The other Roemers had female children or their sons did not marry.
I have very little information on Robert but will share what I have.If you respond, please do so to my email address.
