It was quite a pleasant surprise to read your posting here.Up to this point the only BAUER information I had was that Anna ROESE married a Frank BAUER. And this came from a phone conversation that my mother had with one of her distant cousins years ago.
I’ve collected some BAUER information over the years and basically set it aside in that ever growing “to do” file because I could make any legit connections. I guess I’ll be digging that out now.
Conrad ROESE and his wife are my great great grandparents. I have a copy of part of the passenger list of the Bark Maryland. It arrived in Baltimore on June 23, 1863. Conrad ROESE, his wife and his 5 children were on board. So was Detrick MILLER and his 4 children. These 3 adults are my gggrandparents. A son in the Miller family, Adam Detrick MILLER and a daughter of Conrad, Dorothy Elizabeth were married in Baltimore about 1872. This couple is had 9 children. This is my line. If you want the data and source documentation that I have on the Roese family just let me know. I can send a gedcom or reports via US mail. I use PAF.
Where do you live? From descriptions in your posting you sound like You live in the Baltimore area.I grew up in Baltimore County but am now in Anne Arundel County.
A side note…The name of the street that I lived on as a kid was Bauer Avenue in Perry Hall…Any connection?
We are indeed related through the ROESE family. I look forward to hearing from you.
