I am looking for any information on the Rollstons (Rolston) who helped to found Linden, Michigan in the middle 1800s. The last relative I know of, is William Rollston born in Ireland in 1811. He came to the U.S. in 1853 with his wife Rebecca and children: William, Johna nd Rebecca (all born in ireland. He died in Argentine, Michigan in 1892. Does anyone know what part of Ireland this line lived? In census records, the only clue I have is that once Dungal, Ireland is written (possibly Donegal or Dungall) and once a relative described himself as Eng-Irish. In the cemetary the family has spelled its name both as Rollston (early) and Rolston later.
