Looking for information on the family and descendants of George Tilsley Rooke, born 5th November 1895 in Pilot Mound, Manitoba, Canada. He married my great-aunt, Alice Maud Tidy on 8th October 1918 in Epsom, Surrey, England whilst he was serving with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in Europe. He was in the 54th Kootenay Battalion and won the Military Medal in March 1918.
George returned to Canada with Alice in 1919 to his family hone in Grand Forks, British Columbia. They had a baby, Dorothy Jean Rooke who was born on 15th April 1919 and who died a month later. They are believed to have gone to Washington State in the USA for a while and two sons served in the Canadian Army in WW2, visiting their relatives whilst in England .
I do not know when Alice died but George Tilsley Rooke re-married, to a lady by the name of Annabelle Tough. George died on 10th August 1963 in Vancouver aged 67. He was retired, having been a Machine Operator for some years with the firm of Evans Coleman & Evans Ltd.
