One of my Clark ancestors married Mary "Polly" Rorabeck, born 25 Oct 1778, probably Mass. and died 6 Aug 1853 in western New York. If I remember the story correctly she came to Batavia, NY, with her brother John before 1805. If someone is interested I have a short bio about her and what a busy little woman she was in pioneering early Batavia. They were among the early settlers in the Holland Land Grant.
Mary Rorabeck married William Henry Clark (born 4 Mar 1782, probably in Vermont )in Batavia, Genesee, NY,Nov 25, 1805. They had four sons: Abijah Lee Clark b 1806; Lorenzo Clark b 1808; William H Clark, Jr. b 1810; and Hosmer Clark , b 1812. William H Clark was killed in the war of 1812.
The widow, Polly, later married Patrick Kane and had additional children. She remained in New York. The Clark sons all moved west to Michigan as adults.
Perhaps this information will help someone who is searching New England RORABECKS.
