I have Martha Rorex as b. Aug. 20, 1828 in TN (prob. Lincoln Co.), which agrees with the age she gave on the 1850 Census.I also show her as d. Mar. 8, 1895 in Pope Co., IL.She appears almost certainly to be dau. of James Rorex & Parthenia Parks who I have listed as m. Apr. 1, 1827 in Lincoln Co., TN.The households of James & Parthenia (Parks) Rorex, William W. & Martha (Rorex) Evetts, and Mary Jane (Rorex) Evetts (widow of Joseph Evetts) all appear on p.105 of the 1860 Census in Twp. 12 South, Range 5 East (Broad Oaks P.O.), Pope Co., IL.This same location is listed as Glandale P.O. in the 1870 Census.I have never heard of James Rorex being referred to a John Rorex. He appears as James on all of the census records that I have found for him (1830, 1850, 1860, 1870 & 1880). Martha Rorex & William W. Evetts were m. c.1845 in Pope Co., IL, so she never appears by name w/her father. However, the 1830 Census does show a daughter in the right age bracket to match her b. date. There is a record for a James Rorex still in Lincoln Co., TN in 1840, but the ages suggest that either that is another older James (father of this James?) with this James apparently living in his household, or perhaps that record is for this James and he has another older male living in his household (his father?).In any case, that census record also includes a female in the right age bracket to be Martha Rorex. The James Rorex who m. Parthenia Parks is prob. grandson of William Roark & Margaret Yose.If this James Rorex is not son of another older James Rorex, then he could alternatively fit in as one of the 2 eldest unknown sons (b. 1794-1800) of David Rorex, Sr. & Sarah 'Sally' Bows.
