Dear Jimmy Rosamond;
My aunt Lillian owns a copy of her father's book 'Bound in Clay' that within says he came from a Rosamond family who owned a plantation in Mississippi. Frank Rosamond a.k.a. Royal Reuben Rosamond, was a good friend of Otto Rayburn, the Ozark historian, and published short stories in his magazine 'Arcadian Life'.
Here is information I found today on the Rosamond family of Greenville South Carolina who were members of the Mountain Creek Baptist church. James B. Rosamond was a Deacon, and James P. Rosamond donated land in 1936 to build a parsonage. Note the spellings of Rosamond in the 1840 census "James B. Roseman" and in the 1850 census "James Rosmond".
My mother was Rosemary Rosamond, married to Victor Presco.
Regards
John Presco
