MRS. JOHN (AMELIA HOPPERT) ROSE
FEBRUARY 26, 1909
The death of Mrs. John Rose occurred at the family home on Maple street on Sunday (Feb.22) evening after a three months illness with tuberculous. Her condition had been critical at times and she gradually grew weaker until death ended her suffering. On Saturday she appeared somewhat better, but on Sunday her condition took a turn for the worse and her death occurred at about eight o'clock on Sunday evening.
Mrs. Rose's maiden name was Amelia Hoppert. She was born in Woodford county, April 8, 1863, and when a small child move with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hoppert, to Germanville township, Livingston county. She had resided in Chatsworth and vicinity almost her entire life. On June 22, 1886, she was united in marriage with John Rose, two children, both daughters, having been born to the union. She is survived by her husband; two daughtr, Mabel and Julia; one brother, Henry, of this city, and one sister, Mrs. Anna McManus, of Aurora.
The death of Mrs. Rose's sister, Miss Anstina Hopper, which occurred on Saturday February 6, at the home of Mrs. McManus, in Aurora, had a very depressing effect upon Mrs. Rose and is thought to have hastened the end.
The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church, Rev. Kies officiating, and the remains were interred in the Chatsworth cemetery.
The bereaved family and other relatives have the deepest sympathy of the people of this community in their sorrow.
Among those from out of town, who attended the funeral were the following; Mrs. James Watson and son, of Chicago; Hugh and John McManus, of Aurora; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sturm, George, Fred, Bernard and Miss Mary Sturm, of Roberts.
