Hyam Rosenberg b1840 Poland
My great grandad Joseph Rosenberg was born in Swansea, 1893. By 1911 he was training to be an engraver in Birmingham, and I pretty much know what happened to him after that. It's the rest of his family I'm intrigued by.
His parents:
Hyam Rosenberg (also recorded as Hyman, Henry, and bizarrely as Joseph on his son's wedding certificate). Born c1840 Poland. Jewish. A glazier by trade, got married in 1892, aged 51, at East London Synagogue, Mile End Old Town, London to Freda Schadoff (also transcribed as Freada Schadowf/Chadowf). Hyam died of blood poisoning in 1902 after cutting himself on glass and contracting gangrene. His wife Freda, born 1871 in Lapland, died in 1904 of heart disease aged 33.
This is where I'm looking for help - they also had 2 daughters:
- Sarah Beatrice b 1895, Swansea
- Bertha Fanny born1898, Swansea
I'd love to know what became of them so if anyone is researching this branch, I'd be very grateful and keen to hear from you or anyone else who can help.
Regards
Craig
