I'm not sure if we are related, but I'm descended from a Christian Rossing, born, probably Jylland, Denmark (1652), who moved to Norway and lived at Nes i Hallingdal. His father's name was probably Jens.
Christian died at the age of eight-five; the priest wrote his name as "Christian Jenssen Rossing" in recording his death in the church register. His Will, which was probated 1737, mentioned his first wife, Sigri, his second wife, Guro, the daughter Boel and her husband Erich Hova, along with his sons Jens and Syver.
Is rossing a Norwegian name, a Danish name, or German?
