Joy, our DAR papers on David Rounsavall will not be of help to you because Jane Rounsavall who m.PhillipGilberti Hoodenpyle in 1789 in NC is a descendant of Benjamin's son, Josiah.Josiah was a brother to David. Josiah was captured by the British and put on a prison ship in Camden Harbor, SC where he died.If you want them, just to see the lineage, I will be more than happy to send you a copy.
You are eligible for The Colonial Dames of America through your descent from Benjamin Rounsavall, father of Josiah and David.I went into CDA on Benjamin as a new ancestor.
The Colonial Dames of America is the oldeset women's genealogical organization in America. It was founded in June or July, 1890 - a few months before DAR.
You did not tell me where you live.If my CDA Chapter in Jackson, MS has a copy of my papers on David Rounsavall, I will be happy to get a copy of those for you.
Cousin Jean ********* However, I have differing information from one of the gentlemen who is writing a Rounsavall book. Still waiting for more info from Jean.Anyone else have any additional information? I struggled with finding out about Jane Rounsavall's parents also. The internet has been such a breakthrough!!
