Ooops, Jacob Routh and Lodemia Ann Campbell had 7 daughters, 5 married and 2 unmarried. All lived. His only son died in early childhood.
As a small child, I visited my grgraunts in the house that Jacob built. As far as I know, he did not serve in the Civil War, but they sheltered Confederate soldiers in the basement of the house at the end of the war. The soldiers carved names, dates and sweetheart's names into the limestone walls of the basement. When the abandoned house was destroyed by vandals in the 1960s, some family member took the cellar walls and installed them as decor in a restaurant they owned in Dallas. The restaurant eventually folded and I don't know what happened to those pieces of history.
