Hi I have not posted for a while : My Rowley interests stem from a family resident in Stoke on Trent, Staffs, in both the 1871 and 1881 census. I supply a summary of the 1871 and 1881 census acquired through the LDS Church. I have amalgamated the information as some of the 11 children had left home by 1881

Son 24 Stone STS Tile Carrier left home by 1881 Sarah Ann Daur 22 Stone STS Emily Daur 20 Stone STS left home by 1881 Eliza Stone Daur 19 Stone STS Elizabeth Daur 16 Stone STS Mary Ann Daur 14 Stone STS Samuel Son 12 Stone STS Elijah Son 9 Stone STS They were living at 9 Flash Lane, Stoke on Trent in 1871 and 63 Main St, Stoke on Trent in 1881 (PRO ref RG11 folio 2728/78 p 44) My line comes through the third son Charles, whose son Tom Rowley 1878-1915 was a casualty of WW1. Tom left a wife and six children for whom I have some documentation. Tom’s second son Charles (1905-1952) was my grandfather. I have other bits of information but it is patchy.
