What specifically do you want to know? Jordan was my ggg-grandfather. I am the gg-grandson of Smith Rowsey, one of Jordan's sons from his first marriage. Smith was killed during the violent "Regulator" period of Kentucky reconstruction. He was part of "Rowsey's Band", along with his brothers. Rowsey's Band was one of the most well-known of the regulator groups in Kentucky. Unfortunately for Smith and several other brothers, their reputation ultimately cost them their lives. Smith himself was shot by a group of Kentucky home guards as part of the effort to supress the regulators in 1868. My g-grandfather, Louis Allen, was just a little boy then.
The family is ultimately descended from Lodwick Rowzie, a physician from Canterbury, England (b.1590 d.1640). Several of Lodwick's sons and daughters, along with his widow, came to Jamestown in 1650 and ended up settling in Amherst Co, VA.
