Hi Susan, This is Chris Royle (your Dad's cousin and son of Frank). We last saw each other 14 years ago, on my 40th birthday, when a friend flew me to Bembridge, and we had lunch with you all. Since then, I have got a pilot's licence and have a share (1/12th) in an aeroplane. We saw your Mum and Dad for lunch at Sandown a couple of years ago. Regarding your query, the spelling is actually Myles (it's my middle name, and is the middle name of our eldest son, Matthew). The name of the pub was "The Black Horse" on Bury Road. My Dad (Frank)referred to Myles as a coffin and cabinet maker. I still have a couple of his wood chisels, stamped with his name on the handle, M. Royle, and a number of his other tools, planes etc. The last surviving Royle who could supply more details is Vera Booth, tel. 01204 521540. She's still very well, although her sight is failing. Give her a ring, she'd be delighted to talk to you. This is my work e mail (Royal Brompton Hospital), so e mail back when you have the chance. Perhaps when we are next flying to Sandown I can give you a call. In the meantime, best regards to Geoff and Billie, Chris (home tel 0208 332 6289, work tel 0207 351 8413).
