It's one of the professions I know was associated with him. Various articles about him celebrating his very old age also state he was a logger.
BTW, George Rozell's death certificate lists his date of birth as 28 March 1818, not 6 May 1817, and his tombstone also lists his birth year as 1818. Just another inconsistency to add to the pile.
The "two Mary Genevieve" issue is one I have seen before occasionally in genealogy. MG#1 did die young, at about age 25, which leads me to wonder if perhaps she was impaired or sickly in some fashion. Perhaps by the time of MG#2's birth, they were concerned enough about MG#1's health that they decided to cover their bases.Just some speculation.
