Good to hear from you Hilda. I am not the keeper of all the family hitstory so I cannot at this time point out much information. I have, however, requested from my brother a copy of 80 page book of research he collected on the Ruan family (he is the family history expert). I expect to receive this in at least a week so I will be able to provide some good information at that time. As you may have noticed from earlier posts my grandfather, John Ruan, has commissioned a professor of history at Simpson College to write a book on the family's history. He is more than a year into the project and I believe there is another year to go. Anyway, this forthcoming book should be a treasure trove of information regarding the Ruan family history. With regard to your note, I am aware of the people about which you wrote. We have records of the Ruan family going back to at least the early 18th century on St. Croix, however, I will have to wait until I get my brother's research until I can provide details. On a side note, Jason Carpenter seems to know a great deal about a certain branch of the family so he would be a good resource for information as well. I know my brother's research was a little light on that branch of the family. Talk to you soon. Oh, how did you end up in Australia? Following our ancestor's departure from St. Croix in the middle 19th century our branch ended up in the state of Iowa, United States.
