contributing to the genealogy of family Ruck, I would like to state that the first time the name was mentioned in european history was between 1050-1085. The "father" of this name was an aristocrate originating from the area of today's south/west Germany and northern Switzerland (where still 2 castles named "Ruck" exists). He settled in Blaubeuren (between Stuttgart and Ulm) on the "back" of a near-by hill (back means "Rücken"). He named himself and his family from then onwards "von Ruck" and founded the monastery Blaubeuren together with two relatives. His name was Sigiboto von Ruck. A wooden statue of him can be seen at the monastery of Blaubeuren.
