'Meiches' that's a good and hot trail. I like to offer a procedure, which I did a long time with Carole Richardson from Baltimore. This procedure has a very good guarantee of success - For example: Carole and I researched about 150 years of Ruckel/Rockel-genealogy in Gedern and Burkhards (both near Meiches)
OK, in detail:
The first step for you should be to order the microfilm of the Meiches-churchbooks in your local LDS-office (These films are restricted in Europe, so someone in the USA must order). Try to copy all Ruckel/Rockel entries you found before 1830. Sometimes it's very easy if the churchbook have an register (f.e. 'Johann Rockel, page 47 etc.) sometimes it takes a little bit more time. It's not important to understand or read all those copies - only look for the surnames.
In the next step you can send copies of all entries to me. I will transcribe and translate (sometimes we found Latin) the entries and make a complete register of all. This register, which I of course translate into english, I will send back to you.
I'm shure we will find some more generations in the past and a connection to the other Ruckel/Rockel-lines in Gedern.
