Elizabeth Ruddell Summers Wagnon was the daughter of George and Theodosia Ruddell (daughter of Col. Wm. Lynn/Linn).
My wife and I obtained a copy of the marriage record of Elizabeth Ruddell and Andrew Summers from the Cape Girardeau Archives at Jackson, MO. The file was in Box 39 Bundle 798 and was recorded in French.
Her parents were identified as George and Theodosia Ruddell. The document is dated Sept 23, 1799 and Elizabeth's age is 15.
When Andrew died in August 1814, Elizabeth was named administratrix of the estate. Based on our experience, this was as uncommon as the marriage contracts father George negotiated for Elizabeth. And also for daughter Sara/Sarah, when she married Henry Auger in 1797. After Auger's death Sara married Andrew Summers' older brother, John.
As for Elizabeth, she moved to Batesville, AR, where she married Thomas Wagnon. They moved to Washington Co., AR and on February 19, 1876, the following note appeared in the newspaper:
"I have penciled down the names of 51 persons with whom I am personally acquainted who have reached the age of 70 years and have lived in Washington Co. 40 to 50 years... Mrs. Wagnon . . ."Elizabeth clearly had lived there a long time and would have been 93 years old.She died March 27, 1879.
