Since there are no other Morrisons listed in Lexington VA could there be an addition of another initial so that Robert C. calls himself R. H. when he becomes a doctor? Don't know. The reason son Henry is given the name Henry Ruffner could be that Dr.(Phd) Henry Ruffner was President of Washington College at the time of this listing. Not uncommon to name a child for someone the family respects. Henry Ruffner was also a Presbyterian Minister. (Now the college is Washington-Lee University)
