My response is based on the printed name found in the index of the Goshenhoppen Registers. There would be no way that I know of seeing the original writing even if it still exists, and it would probably be unreadable today. I think the Registers were very carefully translated from the records of the many missionary priests, who sometimes didn't enter the record until some time after the ceremony. Many of the names have various spellings depending on the ethnicity of the priest. I feel we are very fortunate to have these records of our early ancestors.
