Hi Barbara,
I'm working backwards. My grandmother was Winifred Claire Rulison. She was born in the late 1880's in San Francisco. Her mother was Minna Butinop and and I want to say her father was Charles Rulison.I have to go home and check his name. One of her parents died in the 1906 earthquake in SF, and the other died a few years later. She and her sister Alpha Rulison, (later Clark) moved in with her Uncle Fred Rulison in Reno Nevada. That's where the main bunch of Rulisons were. There were a lot of dentists in the family - even one of my mother's Aunts was a dentist (which was pretty rare in those days)I have some old articles on the family that my mother had and I acquired when she passed away in 1997.I've been wondering how to get started finding the family history and when I saw your note - maybe this is it!The name is not that common.
I'd be interested to share what you've learned and maybe we can connect the dots!
I'm in Fremont, California. My grandmother married into a cattle family in Nevada - son of Thomas Jefferson Bell (Nevada Senator in the early 1900's).My mother was Alpha Bell who moved from Reno to California where she met my Dad.I could go on and on!!
Looking forward to hearing from you!
