I am a Hull City season ticket holder.
Following a trip to Hull last Saturday and a visited to my sister (I live in Berkshire) I learned that her sons wife is a grand daughter of George Ruston. Since then I have been working on George. His playing career was as follows
Leek Boroughs as an Amateur then
from June 1901 Bursalem Port Vale.
Transferred to Barrow on Sept 1902.
Transferred back to Bursalem Port Vale Jan 1903. Transferred to Brighton July 1903.
Transferred to Hull July 1904.
Played 29 League games for Hull scoring 14 goals. But in Hull's first pre league season he scored 29 goals. After that he appears to have lost his touch.
Transfered to Brentford May 1909.
He was transferred to Swindon Town on March 1910.
In July 1912 he transfereed to Goole Town.
Tom the only difference I have from your information is that your grandmothers name is not the same as the one I have found. Maybe your grandmother is George's second wife? I will make some enquiries about this.
Victor
