Dear Mary, have meant to post to you for months. You sent me a lot of info on EJT Russom that lived in Wilcox County, GA. He was my grandfather. My father was Curtis which is also my middle name. EJT Russom's ( don't know what the E stands for the JT is for John Thomas) father was William B. Russom who was the son of Jesse Russom who was the son of Vincent Russom and Rachael Sullivan from Guilford Co. NC. William B. along with a couple of other Russom's and some Teats were founding directors of the Liberty Baptist Church in Carnesville, GA. He is buried there. Tombstone reads, William B. Russom (with an o) 24th Georgia Infantry, Company B Hart Co., C. S. A. You are the one that originally told me his burial place. I have been there a couple of times. John Thomas Russom married Emma Jane Teat in Franklin County Georgia in about 1887. He later moved to Abbeville, Wilcox County, GA. He and wife Emma, sons Paul (died about 6 years old), Cliff ( killed in Europe WWI) and Jesse (also WWI veteran, died in VA hospital Lake City, FL late forties early fifties) are buried in Russom burial plot at Stubbs Cemetary in Abbevile, GA. I read somehwhere that his mother (I believe her name was Polly) is also buried there but I have not seen a tombstone for her. It is my understanding that she went to Abbevile to live with her son after William B. died in 1902. Mary, I picked up a John Price Russom, fought in CSA calvary from Cherokee County, GA. Would you please send me a copy of William Bs pension letter from Atlanta Archives. You sent a copy before but it has been misplaced. W. C. Russom, 500 S. Cypress Road, Pompano Beach, FL33060. The Jimmy Shirley you have corrosponded with is my nephew.
