This family has been a nightmare to track down. No one seems to know how or why these 3 ended up living with George Woods and family in Carroll Co., AR in the 1880 census. All 3 claimed to have been born in IL, however, no sign of them anywhere in ILL during the 1870 census, at least not all together in the same household. I recently discovered a marriage record in Perry Co., IL for 1861 between George W. Rhine and Mary E. Robinson. George is the son of Elias Rhine and his second wife Elizabeth Wood(s). Elias and Elizabeth had 3 sons, David, George and Riley. In the 1860 census all 3 sons were living with their Mom who had remarried a Tucker in Perry Co., IL. I am proposing that this same George W. Rhine and Mary E. Robinson are the parents of the 3 Rines/Rhines/Ryans kids, probably died sometime before or after 1870 and the 3 children were put with relatives to be raised. Henry's middle name has been shown as Elias and also Elzie. William's middle name was Riley and the sister Elizabeth could have been named after her grandmother. It is possible that Elizabeth Wood Rhine Tucker was related to those Wood families who settled in Carroll Co., AR. I have not been able to find any documentation on George and Mary other than the wedding date. If you have information to the contrary please let me know.
