The father of Thomas Green Ryman (1841-1904) of Nashville was John Ryman, born 1819 in Tennessee and died 1864 in Tennessee. He has a probate file at Nashville, Davidson Co. TN. John had three brothers (Frank, William, Charles) and one sister.I am a descendant of Frank. All three brothers spent their entire lives in Davidson County, TN. Their father was Frederick (Ferdinand) Ryman (1765-1863).
I have researched Frederick's descendants very throughly and have source information. Benjamin Franklin doesn't fit into this line.
My best advice to give you is to follow Benjamin Ryman in the censuses, and that you won't find him in Tennessee. Work your way backward and you will see that his path does not lead to Thomas G. Ryman of Nashville or Thomas's ancestors. Here is some info below on Tom Ryman's family. Good luck with your research --- J. Johnson
