Hi Delwyn,
very interesting to find out we have a convict in the Saggers clan. I've read Robert's bit- 7 years seems a little harsh for a few chickens!
My descent is from George (bpt. 1797, Westmill) eldest of the 6 children of William and Mary, nee Game. Your William is the youngest (there may be others I have missed).
William married Mary Game at Westmill 29th October, 1796.
He was bpt. in nearby Cottered, one of the 6 off-spring of William and Martha, nee Johnson. The full list, taken from transcriptions of Cottered parish records is: William bpt.1767; Elizabeth bpt. 1768; Hestor bpt. 1771; William (our direct-line ancestor) bpt. 1774; Sarah bpt. 1778; Rhoda bpt. 1783 (there may also have been a John bpt. 1765). The two Williams points to the premature demise of the first. Nb all were recorded as Saggars.
I hope this has been useful. I have a little on Mary Game and Martha Johnson if you are interested.Keith
