Hello
I have also been trying to trace Saggers in Kent and London.
My grandfather William Saggers was born in Sidcup, Kent in 1881. He had a brother Frederick who was born in 1870-8 and emigrated to Canada before 1910, possibly as early as 1900.
William Saggers' father was Frederick william who was born in 1843 in Kennington, South London. He married in 1870 Mary Amelia Staples (DOB 1847, Hayway, Kent. Died 1919.) He died in 1911.His father was;
Frederick James Saggers a Proctor's clerk about whom I know nothing!!
I understand that a Proctor is a position unique to Cambridge University and would therefore lead one to suspect that he came from the Cambridge Saggers.If you have any further information I would be most grateful to receive.
I understand that Frederick Saggers left no issue in Canada. He returned to the UK for WW1 and survived and then returned to his farm where he raised cattle, I think.
