I am a descendant of Robert Sale of Caroline County, who married, first, Ann Broaddus (27 Nov 1794) and, second, Sally Broaddus (15 Feb 1813). By his first wife, Robert Sale had Lucy Ann, Robert, Redd and Edmund. By his second wife, Robert had Elizabeth Ann. Lucy Ann married Thomas Broaddus Puller, her first cousin. They lived in Hanover County; but, in 1822, bought "Seven Springs", the old Dabney home in King William County. In the Chancery Suit, referenced in Hopkins, Thomas Puller's name was misspelled as Pullen.
There were a number of marriages between the Pullers, the Broaddus and the Sales. Thomas Broaddus Puller and Lucy Ann Sale had three surviving children: Margaret Ann, who married Eldred W. Satterhite; Goalder W., who married Margaret E. Lipscomb and Andrew Broaddus, who married Elizabeth Carter Turner. Many of their descendants live in King William County to this day.
