I love this Bible. What a treasure!Too bad I'm not related to its owner.
As you can see from the Bible, 1723 is the date of Mary's birth, not the date of her marriage to Henry Sell/Sells.Thus, she's a contemporary of Ann (______) Sale, and not old enough to be Ann's aunt.
This account as to Michael is pretty good except that it neglects to mention that Veronica was the first wife, who died, and that Michael was married secondly to Magdalena.
Also it assumes that Michael died in 1770, as that is the date when his will was proved. However, the journal of David Schultz demonstrates that he actually died in the fall of 1769.Shortly thereafter, his son (with David) traveled to Philadelphia, possibly to consult with an attorney about the probate. The journey took 13 hours. No wonder they didn't get around to probating the will until the next year.
This sort of thing illustrates why it was necessary to cut Montgomery County off of giant Philadelphia County, in 1784.
