I was hoping for more information on James, b. 1741, but it may not be available yet.
I have been developing a hypothesis that I'm testing, looking for confirmation/denial since I have been able to find few actual records.
Hypothis/Guess: James Salley, b. 1741 in Georgetown, Me. grew up, married (who??), had a child James in 1776. Did he get divorced and wife get children? James then moved to Attleboro, Mass. with son Daniel prior to 1778. James enlisted in the Revolution in May 1778, age 37 for 9 months. James Salley married (2nd) Nellie Little in Attleborough, Oct 1779, and later moved to New Salem/Pelham, Mass. He had two children, Lucius, born Jan 1790 in New Salem. James was in Pelham at 1790 census in 1790, with wife and 1 child. He had possibly one daughter in Sep. 1791 (where??). Then between 1791 and 1800 census, James died and Nellie moved back to Attleborough where she is listed in the 1800 census with two children, one boy, one girl each over 10 and under 15.
As I said, this is a hypothesis/guess. Do you have some documents that would either support or disprove it?
