Hello again Teresa. I am researching Mr. Sanders because of his founding of the Sanders Ferry across the Tallapoosa River, I believe about 1838. This was done at the site of his land patent purchase of Fractional C, Section 36, T. 20 R. 21, which I believe contained 33 acres. This land lay on the eastern bank of the river, just downstream from where Martin Dam spans that river today. On March 22, 1840, according to the deed, which I have a copy of, William Sanders and his WIFE, Sarah/Sally H. Sanders sold land to men named Rezin Mabry and John Bostock "fractional sections B, C, and D, Section 36, T. 20 R. 21, HAVING ON THEM THE SANDERS FERRY". Are we talking about the same man here? Some things seem to fit, but Maybe not the wife, or maybe Sarah/Sally died?I am interested in all this because later on, the name of the ferry was changed to the Double Bridges Ferry, and at one point was owned by my great great grandfather, David Lawson Burson. I am writing a historical novel on his life, and all this ferry and land business is part of the story. Do you mind if I use your personal email? Will be easier and quicker assuming you will help me!
