Sara Elizabeth's mother was born Sara MURDOCK, daughter of John MURDOCK and Nancy WOOTON, in June of 1840 in Georgia. She married Alfred/Alford Matthews, October 16, 1859 in Paulding Co., Georgia. He died of Typhoid Fever while serving in the Civil War, June 5, 1865, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Sara next married John W. ROYSTER, October 20, 1867, in Crawford Co., Illinois. They actually lived in Clay Co., Indiana at this time.John ROYSTER was also a widower with two children. He was my gr-gr-grandfather! They had several children but the only one alive by 1900 was Sara Elizabeth.John ROYSTER died March 11, 1884 in Illinois of wounds suffered in the Civil War.
Sara then married James WYSONG, July 5, 1885, in Missouri. He died August 23, 1892 in Henry Co., Missouri.
Her last husband was John CASIDY, who she married September 25, 1898 in Missouri. He died January 16, 1900.Sarah died August 10, 1906, in Calhoun, Missouri.
The reason that I kow all of this is because I sent for John ROYSTERs Civil War File and all of this is documented in there because Sarah filed for her Civil War Pension each time she became a widow!
