Hi Jennifer,
Your father and my grandfather seem to be the same person.Victor's first marriage was to Fay Ruth Norman who was born in 1901 and died in 1991. She had two children from a first marriage to Rollins Tussey who disappeared suddenly and of whom no trace has ever been found.
Those children, Rollins (Jay) Tussey Jr. and Fay (Ginger) Tussey Benson, did not assume the Sarthou name but lived with Victor and Fay.Victor and Fay had four children, John (Jack), Victoria Sarthou Harris (deceased), Norman and Carol Sarthou Meador. If there were others who died young, I do not know about them.
Your father had two brothers. One died in a car accident while a teen and the other, Emil (Babe) I believe died recently in Orange County, CA.His widow, Lupe, is still living as are the two sons (your cousins) of that union.
Of your half-siblings, Jack has two children, Victoria had no children, Carol has four children, and Norman has two that carry his name on the birth certificate and there is a question about the true paternity of another child that does not carry his name on the birth certificate. That child and a step-child of Norman's used the Sarthou name and the male still does.
As you probably know, Victor is buried in Fullerton, CA with his parents, brother, and some other family members.
Jennifer, this is a long-term divided family with many very long held resentments. Some go clear back to your father and his brother. If you would like more information, please contact me at tarfm@hotmail.com and I will see if I can help you.
Monica
