Jim,
William P. Sartor (1800-1877) is a very elusive man. He is a son of John Peter Sartor (1759-1822) of Union Co. SC.W.P. was in the 1830 census in Union Co. and lived close to the Linams.Another Sartor researcher informed me that W.P. was the administrator of Thomas Linams estate which indicated that he might have married a Linam. After further research, she found a document that shows W.P. married Mary Linam (I'm still waiting on the document).Based on the birth location of his children, W.P. was in TN by 1835.W.P. and Mary had 5 daughters (Sarah Ann, Mary B., Nancy C., Francis and Katherine) and one son (John Peter) between 1825-1837.W.P. was in Rutherford Co. TN in 1840 census, admin. of Thos Linam's will in 1841 and married Levy Ann Sanders in 1845 in Rutherford Co.So I assume Mary Linam died/divorced between 1837-1845.W.P. moved to Gibson Co. TN by 1850 where he had 6 kids with with Levy.He then moved to Lafayette Co., MS (Paris, MS) by 1870 without Levy (assumed she died before 1870).I have him dying in 1877 but no proof.
Regards,
Greg Sartor
