September 7, 2003 Hello Scott: As a result of our internetconversation, my cousin, Denise Sather-Peterson)and I drove down to Nebraska to see Aunt Catherine Sather-Stoeber) a couple of weekends ago.It turns out that our Grandmother Sather had written the history of the family and left it with Catherine, so more is known that we thought we had about the Sathers. If you will forward your e-mail address to me, I will send you a copy of the history which I typed from Grandma's notes as well as scans of two photos - one of the Soren/Kari & 8 children, and another of Tommy and Palma Christopherson later in their lives. I'll also send you scans of Eugene Chrisopherson's art work on a magazine cover, etc.
It turns out that Kari was correct in listing 8 children in her family. Our list was missing Thea, born in ChippewaFalls in about 1878, and Mina, born in the sod house in South Dakota between 1879 & 1885. The history I send to you will include the names of the persons they married and where they moved to.
Aunt Catherine said that Palma and Tommy's family was very musical.Tom played an instrument ina local music group in Toronto, and the children all sang.
Does your wife sing ?I would like to communicate with her sometime if wecan get your e-mail address.
RE: The Christopherson family, Catherine said she remebered Mamie- but very not much about her. (Catherine is now 81 - born in 1922.)She mentioned that Palma and Tommy didn't always get along real well, and she sometimes felt sorry for the kids, (whatever that means.) I forgot to ask her what Tommy did for a living.I got the sense that the Christopherson family remained in Toronto, but I'm not sure about that.
