James served with four Watkins/Wadkins brothers in the same 63rd Enrolled Militia in 1864 in Missouri; later two of the Watkins brothers moved from Wright-Pulaski-Maires Counties area to Reynolds/Shannon Counties area by 1867 after the Civil War. Jesse Wadkins moved his family to north Texas/southern Oklahoma area about 1884. Did James Satterfield also move about the same time with his family to the area?
