I am looking for her parents and siblings. Supposedly named because she was born in a wagon train to California. Also family history that she was indian as dau Bessie was supposedly 1/2 Indian, perhaps Blackfoot? Did the family give up the trip to California or leave her there? Callie was born in Sep 1880 MO according to info I found on her and her parents in the following census; and she died in 1954 perhaps in Oklahoma or Kansas.
Thanks for reading, CW Carlile
Callie married Ralph Hinson [b/1869 IL]in abt 1898, possibly MO since they are listed in the MO 1900 census. 1900 > MISSOURI > JASPER > GALENA TWP HINSON RALPH 31 M W IL MO JASPER GALENA TWP 1900 Aug 1869 m/2 IL IL NC Zinc Miner Callie wife Sep 1880 19 m/2 1/1 MO VA VA Carl son Apr 1889 1 MO IL MO error: s/b abt1898] John father Feb 1830 70 m/46 IL VA Maryland Farmer Sarah mother Feb 1834 66 m/46 7/5 NC NC NC
In 1910 she is in OK having lost 2 children and adding three more; and her father and mother are listed w/different pobs. Ralph's mother is still with them. 1910 > OKLAHOMA > WASHINGTON > JACKSON TWP HINSON RALPH 41 M W IL OK WASHINGTON JACKSON Twp m1/12 IL IL NC labor oil supply Callie 29 m/12 6/4 MOWVIA Carl W. 11 MOILMO Pearl C. 8 OKILMO John Q 4 OKILMO James P 5/12 MOILMO Sarah 76 Wd 7/5 NCNCNC
In 1920 still in OK her m-i-l Sarah is gone and sons Carl and James P are gone and she has 2 more children; Bessie is our line. Wonder why she was in MO for Carter to be born? 1920 > OKLAHOMA > WASHINGTON > 3-WD; BARTLESVILLE HINSON RALPH 50 M W IL OK WASHINGTON 3-WD; BARTLESVILLE ILILNC laborer odd jobs Callie wife 39 MOVAVA Pearl son 18 OK laborer odd jobs John son 14 OK Carter son 9 MO Bessie dau 8 OK
It's possible the family was in Kansas in 1930. 1930 United States Federal Census View Image Name: Ralph Hinson Birth: abt 1870 - location Residence: 1930 - city, Leavenworth, Kansas
