The Chapel at Wye was primarily the work of Peter Sayer: architect.......
It was built on a tract of land called Morgan-St. Micheals
near the home of
Peter Sayer and his wife Francis Morgan whom he married in 1675
Peter was a Catholic gentleman whose father Willam had come over on the Ark and Dove Ship in 1634Ad
Peter had been educated in Paris by the English Benedictines
Charles Blake was a nephew of his and both were educated together in Paris and in his early years he lived with Sayer.
He gave his son the name John Sayer Blake as a result of this relationship.
