I know what you mean. Searching for those (ever-elusive!) clues that might provide a bit of insight into the Sayles (and, Fetterman) ancestry has been akin to looking for a needle in a haystack.Utterly maddening!
However, a very gracious lady named Nancy Richings recently opened many of these doors -- by sharing her Sayles research. Some of this wonderful information may also be helpful to you-- especially relating to the ancestry of Mary Charlotte Sayles (wife of Jesse Fetterman).
Christmas is just days away. Given the Holiday Season-- it's ESPECIALLY nice to be able to let you know that you were correct. The name of Jesse Fetterman's wife was indeed ''Mary Charlotte Sayles''.
