Pam,
I asked my dad a few questions during dinner, I got a few answers, he is suppose to be with me now, but I think he forgot, he just got off work and he is tired.
My dad states that he thinks that Peter Scheid was from Germany , he was married to a lady who had a Irish accent. He is not sure of his grandmothers first name. His grandfather had married his (the grandfather) sister-in-law. He said that when he was young he came accross a newspaper clipping that the in-laws had seitched wives. (I had thought that they actually married someone else, not in-laws, but it made the paper because divorce was not ordinary back then) My father has/had a grandparent named Kircham/Kirkham (don't know proper spelling)he thinks that the Kirkhams and Scheids switched wives. Peter Scheids mother died in a insane asylem, so the alzheimers possibly came from her, but was passed o to the Scheids. Some kind of a gorwth/cyst that is carried through the family line from some German family in Germany - this is some kind of mass that is unique to our family line- I think it is kinda like some fatty tissue on the back area, but I am not sure, since I have not seen it. My Aunt has it and so does my brother
I will give you a discription of some family traits that I have noticed, that seem to carry in the geans
Many of my fathers side have died from Alzheimers - years ago they just said that his relatives"Just went Crazy"
Some kind of retarding-My family is not retarded at all, but I have a cousin that is about 16, his father who is about 55, and they are both slow. I asked my fathers sister if there was any other members of the family who had that trouble, and after she thought awhile, she stated that she had a uncle that was slow also. The men in the family are usually about 6'6 -my grandfather, and his brothers were about this height. My fathers sisters are about 5'6, but I think that is because their mom was not very tall.
It seems like my grandparents named their kids with family names (aunt/uncle/grandparent names) The men also seem to have one eyebrow, this feature is carried on even in my brothers cousins and second cousins,Dark hair is also a main feature
My dad has a sister named Patricia, a brother named Kenneth middle name Raymond (I know Ray is a name on his mothers side)sister-Beverly, brother - Timothy
My dad just came in now and states these few names of uncles Raymond, Albert, a sister Josephine(?name) who was married to a sailor who divorced her after about 50 years. My dad thinks his aunts name was Francis (I thought Francis was his Uncle, but that was because I did not know that my dad had any aunts. Peter Scheid had hit his head at sometime in his life very hard and was blind for a time due the injury, he died due to hitting his head. My father hits his head often, so that must be a family trait : )
Peter Scheid and my grandfather use to work in shoveling coal out of trains so it could be delivered.
My father does not know much about his family line due to the fact that his father did not get along with his grandmother.
I hope to find out more.
Terry
