Looking for any connection to my gr gr grandfather William Schelle.I know he was from Germany, but have not determine where yet.He was b. abt. 1856 and married to a Pauline Anna Peters also born in Germany (location unknown) abt. 1856 also.Pauline Peters supposedly had family here in the New Jersey area, but my grandma doesn't remember the names. She did remember that they had the last name of Peters though. William and Pauline had numerous children, many of their boys died though. However, the children that I do know of are as follows:
Minnie Schelle married Larry Burrows - 2 children Bill Burrows and a Girl Burrows.
Pauline Schelle married an Edward Parker - 2 children of which one died in infancy, the other child was a Robert Parker.
Anna Schelle may have been b. abt. 1890 married an Arthur Van Valkenburg. No children.
Helen Louise Schelle was my gr grandmother. She was b. abt. 1901 in Hackensack, NJ. I've been told that she was one of the "younger" children out of the 10 children known of born to this family. She married my gr grandfather, Joseph Keller.
Luetta Schelle married first Willaim Lautz and had one daughter, Luetta "Dolly" Lautz.Luetta married an Elwoode Locke. They died in NJ.Luetta secondly married a Walter Laidlaw and had 3 children. They resided in NJ.
Last child was an Aruthr Schelle. He was killed in the navy for WWII in 1945.However, first he was married to Katherine "kitty" last name unknown. They had two children, Barbara Schelle and Arthur Schelle. For some reason this marriage went sour and Kitty took off with the children. The family hasn't never heard about them since.Arthurs second wife was a Marie. They had a daughter Theresa Schelle b. abt. 1942.After Arthur was killed in the war Marie remarried and the family never heard from the family again.
There were additional boys in the family, but they died in their teens. The family was said to have moved about between New Jersey and New York, but mainly resided in NJ.I've tried checking the 1900 online census for NJ, but can not find the family.I'm thinking that the last name might have been mispelled.Since my gr grandma was born in Hackensack in 1901, I would think that the family probably was in the area in 1900.I don't know why I can't find them??I believe most of the family is buried in the Hackensack Cemetery.
Anyone with a possible connection, please e-mail me!!I've had a terrible time trying to make any connection with most of these folks so any help or possible connection is most welcomed! Sue O'Meara Michigan
