This is all very nice, and interesting. When I was in Germany and later in Belgium, I tried to get to Holland to see the Schenck Van Nydeck ancestral places. The family is extensivly researched and documented. However, There is NO proof that Marten Schenck of Long Island is a son of the Martin Schenck Van Nydeck.
The History by Ferber is false and unproven. The History by Lt Schenck copies the errors from Ferber.
Almost all Schenck family books also report the same false line.
The Schenckand Van Scherpenzeel relationship, and others down though the centuries are true, the family liniages from Martin in Long Island, to the present are probably true in most cases. It is the connection between the Martin in Long Island and the Schencks in Holland that is unproven.
I surmise Martin of Long Island is probably some Bastard relation to the line in Holland.
Prove the connection, and you will win the eternal gratitude of all Schencks of Dutch heritage that stem from Martin and his Brother in Long Island NY.
