The microfilmed German baptismal records of the children of Martin and Caroline (ZIEMER) SCHEU in Kirchheimbolanden, Pfalz document the following children and their birthdates:
Emma Scheu 9 Feb 1839
(Anna) Sophia Scheu 27 Feb 1841
Heinrich Scheu 21 Nov 1842
Philip Scheu 24 Nov 1846
Carl Scheu 4 Aug 1848
Ferdinand Michael Scheu 30 Dec 1849
Andreas Scheu 28 Dec 1851
Ludwig Scheu 28 Dec 1851
Later census and death records document the following children born in Buffalo NY after the family immigrated in June 1854:
Martin Scheu 8 Oct 1854
Frederick abt 1859
I have had contact with 2 descendants of Ferdinand through his likely only son George, who migrated to Chicago.
I would like to hear from anyone with information regarding Martin or Martin's relationship to Solomon SCHEU, mayor of Buffalo (1868-69), who signed Martin's naturalization papers in May 1868.Martin was apparently born in Standenbuehl, Pfalz, as was Solomon.
Caroline (Caroline E. in census records) was a ZIEMER in baptismal documents, not WEDEL as listed in LDS FHC transcriptions.Any information regarding her family in Germany or those who may also have emigrated to the US will be much appreciated.
I also look forward to contact with any other Buffalo and/or Pfalz SCHEU descendants who may be able to assist in compiling a SCHEU genealogy.
Thanks! Please note the change of my email address.
Pat
