I am conducting genealogy research on my great great grandmother Josephine Westjohn from Oldenburg Gremany. As a child of 13 she came to Cincinnati Ohio and at age 18 is shown on the census of Hamilton County in the home of Fredrick Lamping, he also from Oldenburg, along with his wife and children. There is anothe connection to Lamping in the next generation. The Lampings of later years lived just 2 houses away from this Josephine's daughter and her husband Harry Bridge, my great grandfather.Harry Joseph and Fredrick were all plummers by trade.I have been trying to connect with a member of this family to see if the Westjohn surname shows up in the line bake in Germany. It is my suspision that Josephine may have been the niece of Fredrick based on age difference , daughter of his sister, who would have possibly been a Lamping. This is all a hypothesis to the question of why she would have been in his home.
If you are in any way connected to Lampoing in Cin. or have found L:ampings from Oldenburg Germany in your line, please respond. Thank you for your time and have a great day. Tracey Bridge Baker
